HOSPITAL RESILIENCY AND PREPAREDNESS PROJECT
Objective
Improve the preparedness and capacity of hospital services at the Sint Maarten Medical Center, the only hospital on the island for the growing population
Beneficiaries
- About 60,000 residents of Sint Maarten, Saba, and St. Eustatius
- 2.6 million tourists that visit Sint Maarten annually and need medical services
Approach
BUILD
a new 110-bed general hospital alongside the Sint Maarten Medical Center Foundation
INCREASE
hospital resilience against Category 5 and higher hurricanes and other disasters
FINANCE
critical upgrades to the existing hospital and help enhance hospital services
STRENGTHEN
the medical center’s capacity to conduct education campaigns on COVID-19 prevention
